My First Ever Fighters Photoshoot
Bit Of Background
Over the years I have photographed a few Professional Fighters as Event VIPs, Seminar Hosts and within films. I can even say I went in the ring with Chuck Liddell (UFC) and didnt get a scratch on me, though I was just taking his photo. Also as Official Photographer at SENI 2006 I photographed Chuck and Mark Weirs UFC Seminar. During filming of Sucker Punch I took a lot of photos of Ian Freeman and also quite a few of James Thompson.
I’ve done 2 books on Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu technique and photographed a couple of MMA fighters as well for another book yet to be published.
Cage Photos
I also got my first experience of photographing through a Cage providing Production Stills on Underground (now avaialble in HMV). However it wasn’t until 2009 that I got to photograph someone as a pure fighter. When Malcolm Martin started talking to me about his ‘Caged’ Film Project I though it sounded like a great reason to take some Professional Fighter Photos.
Fight Event Poster Design
Then I got a call from Hong Kong with someone wanting me to do some Poster Design for some Fight Events. I struggled to find good photos on the Internet other than the UFC, to use as images to show possible designs and they didnt have any high res images that were decent to use (lighting, colour, sharpness).
Caged
So I set to work on producing some good Fighter Photos, taking my Mobile Professional Studio on the road. Working with Scott “The Priest” Clist in his Revolution Gym in Trowbridge directed by Malcolm Martin, we had a great time and everyone was happy with the pics. As I specialise in capturing martial arts technique we did a few dynamic shots as well and I have to say the Flying Knee shot is one of my favourites.
So…get to the point!
OK, I want to expand my work in Fighters PR Photography, as I think I could provide Fighters, Fighter Coaches, MMA Teams and Fight Promoters with some great photos to use for Fight Posters, Websites and Editorial and interviews in Newspapers and Magazines. I am offering a deal which is outlined on the Flyer below. High Impact PR Images at a low cost in the comfort of your own gym.
Minimum of 10 fighters. If you are interested get in contact.

What makes me different than other fighter photographers
Lots of people taking photos at events but very few professionally qualified photographers doing PR photos. Photos would be edited and cutout to a professional film poster standard and provided on transparent backgrounds.
I’ll probably get hit for saying this but I have done design work with other photographers images of fighters and some of them weren’t even in focus from 4 or 5 foot away using a background, though they had all the gear (but no idea…).
I am a photographer, who likes taking photos of fighters. Not someone who likes fighting and has picked up a camera and starting taking photos. Been taking photos for 18 years and since 2002 I was a Fujifilm Professional Photographer on their “envisage” Program.
