Category Archives: Work Trips

Working for an international Satellite Communications company means I find myself going to some odd places. Sometimes I take a camera and sometimes I don’t. Most times I don’t as often there is no time to take photos. I like airports though so there are quite a few photos of airports and no photos of where I went. Sometimes I get time to take photos or have to take them really quickly.

Some people sit in a bar all night when they are travelling, but I usually like to sneak some photos as the sun is going down if I am by myself. Also random photos of hotels before I ‘Holdsworth’ them.

Karup and Copenhagen, Denmark

Off to work with the military in denmark I took my Fuji S7000 just in case I got a chance to take some photos as had never been to Denmark before.

I didnt, but grabbed these as we waited at the airport in Karup for 2 hours and Copenhagen for 3 hours. There are some more, but they are far too scary to publish.

Fucino Teleport, Italy

Part of my trip to Italy was to Fucino Earthstation about 80-100km outside Rome. After driving through torrential rain and wind I arrived to quite a nice sunset which lasted all of about 10 minutes. I had a few minutes spare after my meetings and took a few photos before heading back to Rome.

Its quite an amazing place and somewhere I would definitely return to.

Milcom 2003 in Monterey, California

Someone messed up the booking of my flights to the Milcom Conference and Exhibition and so I found myself with a day to spare and the wonderful sights of California around me. Being in Monterey I obviously checked out Cannery Row and the fishermans wharf from my John Steinbeck reading and then I hired a bike and road down the coast passing through Pebble Beach and on to Big Sur where I sat on the beach before heading back over the hills and through the golf courses.

Coming from the sea myself and growing up by it I found Monterey really enjoyable, nice pace and nice place. The seals were very funny. I even phoned some of my friends and left messages on their answerphones from the seals
